Our Approach

Culture and Language

NabiTokki is a Korean immersive preschool based in Brooklyn. We strive to create a caring and fun learning environment for our little ones to grow and thrive.

We believe that children learn and retain best through play, thus we endeavor to create a joyful and playful experience through play-based curriculum that nurtures the whole child.

Along with language, we also show the context and the culture connected with our language. We celebrate and explore major Korean holidays and learn traditional children’s songs and games.

READING

Reading to children is a great way to introduce literacy as well as the alphabets to our young future readers. By reading to them every chance we get, not only are they getting familiar with the shapes and forms of Hangul, but also the sounds of the letters and words. We have a growing library of books full of many different stories and subjects that are sure to interest any child.

MUSIC AND MOVEMENT

At NabiTokki, we start and end the day with music, dance, movement and play. We have music throughout the day and on some days, we even break out into an impromptu dance party! Play and movement are as one of the most important methods of learning, so we provide to give our students plenty of time to expend their energy.

Projects: ART, literature, SCIENCE, culinary experience, sensory, and cultural activities

There are so many fun projects we do at NabiTokki. Each month, we have a theme and most of the activities are related to the theme. Every day, we get to experience one of the many different activities including art, literature, science, cooking/baking, and Korean cultural activities. In literature, we read books together and create art inspired by the book. Using our five senses, we learn about different foods and cook/bake them. We create science experiments that are crowd pleasers. We watch, discuss and have fun! We focus on fine motor skills and play with sensory materials. Not only do we celebrate the major American holidays, we also celebrate Korean holidays here at NabiTokki. At the end of the school year, every student will take home a NabiTokki patented Hangul learning chart.
